ONE REAL TASK
A recorded voice with a clearly quieter room tone between phrases. The gate lowers quiet sections by up to 24 dB and uses a 3 dB closing margin to reduce chatter.

A gate does not remove noise while a voice is speaking, identify speakers or remove electrical hum selectively. A high threshold can suppress quiet words. Start low and compare sentence beginnings and endings.
This tool has no account gate, payment gate or 30-second export cut-off. The separate AI noise removal tool offers a short free listening preview and paid full-file processing.
Choose the recording and listen to its quietest speech.
Start with a low threshold, 10 ms attack and 150 ms release. Raise the threshold cautiously.
Apply and listen for cut-off syllables or pumping. Adjust or undo before downloading the full WAV.
Supported input: readable WAV, MP3 or M4A audio, mono or stereo, up to 50 MB and 10 minutes. A decoded-memory guard can reject a smaller file. Video and multichannel input are not supported. Output is WAV; an M4A extension does not guarantee a browser-readable codec.
It turns down the whole signal when it is quiet. It cannot separate noise from speech while both are present. AI noise removal is a separate preview-and-paid-full-file workflow.
No. The sample count, stereo layout and timing stay the same; only gain changes.
Attack controls how quickly the gate returns to normal gain. Release controls how gradually it turns quiet sections down. Very fast settings can sound abrupt.
It is not a hum-removal filter. It may reduce hum in quiet gaps, but the hum remains while the gate is open.
